Arki's friend, there are three ways  to work in Japan  that are legal for prospective migrants from Indonesia, namely the government/Ministry of Manpower route, the LPK/private route, and  the independent and individual route . These three ways  to work in Japan  have been discussed in detail by Arka in the previous article.

Well, in this article, we will focus more on discussing  how to work in Japan through independent/individual paths.  Starting from how to do it and why you should choose the independent path. Come on, listen carefully, my friend Arki.

How to Work in Japan Independently?

1. Job Research

The way  to work in Japan  through individual channels is still not very familiar to prospective Indonesian migrants. The first thing to do is decide what you will work as in Japan. You can start researching what jobs can be applied for by migrant workers who are high school/vocational school graduates.

Well, one type of job that can be applied for by high school graduates and is currently in high demand in Japan is  Specified Skilled Worker  (SSW).  There are 14 job sectors that can be applied for by SSW workers, including  SSW  Kaigo/Caregiver , SSW  Food Manufacture , and SSW  Food Service.

2. Japanese Language Course

The second step, you have to start preparing your  Japanese language skills . To work as an SSW, your Japanese language skills must be at least equivalent to  JLPT N4  or J FT Basic A2.

If you haven't mastered it yet, you can take Japanese courses at Arkalearn. If you have mastered Japanese, then you can take the Japanese language exam. There are two Japanese language skills exams that you can take, namely  the JLPT N4 and JFT Basic A2 exams . You just have to join and pass one of them.

3. Get SSW Certification

The next step, you need to have a skills certification (SSW) which is one of the requirements to be able to  work in Japan . This skills certification can be done by yourself, the most important thing is to have a  Prometic ID account.

Unfortunately, there are only a few SSW exams held in Indonesia through Prometic, including  caregiver / SSW  kaigo , SSW food processing, SSW agriculture, SSW animal husbandry, and SSW restaurant. Apart from that, you have to take the SSW exam directly in Japan.

4. Find a Job in Japan

After getting Japanese language certification and SSW, it's time to look for job vacancies in Japan. You can search for vacancies in Japan through job search websites, social media, and online forums. You can also take advantage of  job matching  available on the ArkaLearn site. ArkaLearn job matching is the process of matching the skills and qualifications of job seekers with the needs of companies in Japan.

5. Pass the Job Interview in Japan

After doing  a job interview  and you are declared to have passed  the job in Japan , it's time to take care of the visa. Well, the visa you need for SSW workers in Japan is  the Tokutei Ginou / TG  visa  .

Holders of this visa can work in Japan for up to 5 years with the option to extend each year. In addition, foreign workers with TG visas will receive the same rights and obligations as Japanese workers.

That's how to work in Japan  on an independent/individual basis . To increase your chances of getting a job in Japan faster, make sure you are well prepared.

So, make your preparation for working in Japan more mature by taking  a Japanese language course at ArkaLearn.
